For new members or guests passing by I thought I would make a thread with a bit of info about the forum.
Background
The forum was made on August 17th 2012, but I only opened properly and began advertising the day after, as I spent the first day making skins and playing around with my admin powers.
Rules and stuff
Here on Off Topica there are no rules, I trust members use their own common sense when they post something. I'm a pretty laid back guy, I honestly couldn't care less if you swear or curse, I'm not going to filter anything. I trust that members know what not to post and what to post, I don't want to be one of those admins who bombards their members with loads of rules. Quite frankly, do what you want, but as I said, be sensible.
Advertising
If for some strange reason you would like to see the advertising thread I have over on PBS, here's the link: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=adgeneral&action=display&thread=422545&page=1
I aim to "bump" the thread around 4 or 5 times a day, though sometimes I do more if I'm around.
Staff
Staff members name's will not be "colored" like most forums do, it makes the forum look a bit authorized, and makes it look like staff members think they're "really great" with their colored names.
I won't be too fussed about staff, so chances are there will be an extremely small team. As I said above, there are no rules, you make your own rules with your own common sense, so who needs moderators watching your every move? If you want to know who the staff members are, then check the "staff members" section on the members list.
Post rankings
Post ranks are basically when you hit a certain amount of posts, you reach a certain rank, then you go on to reach the next rank, here's a list of the posting ranks for this forum:
0 - You have no rank, as you haven't posted.
1 - Off the mark
20 - Getting there (This is when you get your first star, for each rank you go up, you are given another star)
50 - Sort of settling in
100 - Settled in
250 - Junior Member
500 - Full Member
1000 - High Member
2500 - Ultimate Member
5000 - Legend in the making
10000 - Legend
25000 - Chicken Legend
50000 - Ultimate Chicken Legend
The ranks over time will be changed, when I ask for suggestions, but for now, these will be the ranks.
